It’s a common situation. We’re told ‘Congratulations, you’re the new (title)!’ and you feel you’re being rewarded for the good job you’ve been doing. So you keep doing it, only to realize that your boss never clarified the additional responsibilities (rules!) this new position required until they pointed out you hadn’t done them.
