Delegation and Time

 

It’s not news to those in management that there isn’t enough time to do it all. That’s one reason the manager delegates. However, time and time again I have heard the excuse, “It’s just easier if I do it.” That’s not a sentence that comes out of the successful manager’s mouth. Managers who are continuing to move up the ladder understand the importance of training team members to do the tasks needed for the team to reach its goals as well as prepare individuals for the next step in their career progression. It shouldn’t be the norm for a manager to work long hours and weekends. When delegation is done effectively, you will begin to see the team humming along, getting things done, and you enjoying your time outside of work.
