Like millions of others, I love “The Voice.” And there are some powerful lessons we can learn for leadership from the show. How willing are you to get out of your comfort zone? Would you go on national television to be critiqued by top performers in your field, people you can’t even see, and risk the chance of public criticism? Consider the thought that your team members feel that way each day when they come to work. Sometimes they feel as though they are talking to a boss whose chair is turned and they aren’t getting any coaching to improve their performance. They are allowed to stay in their comfort zone and maintain a career of mediocrity because they haven’t been encouraged and supported to up their game. Tune into this interesting conversation that uses the television show “The Voice” as an example of how you can be motivating and coaching your team to success.
